Is it the same for single-fan and dual fan?
I only seem to be getting one speed (I assume high) at around 97-98 deg C on the 2007 1.4i TU3A.
Mine never get's to those temps.

and normally i never heard low speed fan in-car...
on the other hand...
if you turn the A/C on, the fan should run at low speed.
if you unplug the stat.; once the fan is on it should run at full speed..

You can see the low speed fan kicking in on this trace of eng temp v time warming up from cold
The engine mechanical thermostat is only just opening at 89C on petrol engines so 90C would be too low for the rad fan to be needed

Also is the second circle switching at high speed or simply coming-on again at low speed?
It must be said my 2001 has the big radiator and different software version than the 2007
with the small rad and much later software for the ECU.
However the water pump has smaller fins and runs slower on my 2001 model.
I just want to be sure the low-speed resistor/relay are working OK.
Preferably without dismantling everything at the front.

Both circles are the low speed fan switching on, first one happens at 95C and the 2nd event at 97C
If you have Peugeot Planet you can test actuate both the low and high speed fan circuits or you can substitute a variable resistor in the 0-10kohm range for your fuel management ETS and simulate any engine temp you want to test the fan operation
Disconnecting the air con ETS if you have aircon with ign on will start the rad fan on high speed Last edited by Deckchair5 on Sun Apr 29, 2012 3:12 pm; edited 1 time in total
