#1: Lumpy engine, loss of power - sometimes... Author: LeeUK, Location: NorthumberlandPosted: Tue May 01, 2012 12:29 am ---- Sometimes my petrol 206 engine management light will flash and beep. The engine will sound all lumpy and I will have to put my foot down harder to keep up. It makes a sound like the exhaust is blowing but it is not. When it is not having this 'attack' it is fine.
I took it to a garage and they say it might be the coil pack but they can't be sure until they see the car actually doing the above problem.
I'm just wanting to know if anyone else has had this and what the problem was?

I think I'll just go and buy a new coil pack and change it myself then. Hope that cures it.

Why did you buy a second hand coil pack , As how do you know thats not a faulty coil pack?
Plus what spark plugs you got?

I bought a second hand one as didn't want to spend loads on a new one in case it wasn't the coil pack. Catch 22 situation I know.
Don't know the spark plugs. They were in when I got the car 2 and a half years ago and not been changed since.

I got some new plugs but can't get the old ones out. They won't budge. Got a garage to look at it tomorrow.
Hopefully I can get this all sorted.

Turns out injector 4 is to blame. They changed it out and all is working fine now. And that's with the original coil pack too.
£105 all in.
Maybe I been scammed and all they changed is the spark pugs, who knows.
