Looking for a cheap obd reader, to read any codes that maybe on my 206 from time to time

It's 2000 x 2.0L hdi

Which one do I need to get?

Anyone got any suggestions

I also have a 2006 focus c-max diesel, so would be ideal to read that too, If possible

The Focus will be easy to source a reader for as its a 2006 model which means it has to be EOBD be law & you can pick basic engine fault code readers up anywhere cheaply enough.

The 206 you have being a year 2000 will need a more expensive code reader / tool as its not EOBD even though it has the same type of diagnostic socket.

I was looking a while ago because the saxo wasn't compliant with my OBD2 reader (I think it's 98 reg)

When I looked pretty sure this was the cheapest decent kit to get - bearing in mind I just searched for it now so could be cheaper elsewhere

Don't know about only code readers as I always use a laptop

A system that works with a laptop is ok for me as long as I can get the software from somewhere Smile

Cheers for info guys

£85 is a very good price for that piece of kit. Very handy to have it!

Also cheap China s**te.

I'd rather pay a bit extra for quality when using tools of this nature!

That will be an OBD-II, like said even though you have the same type of diagnostic socket you will need a PRE OBD-II scanner
