#152: Re: **Spike's Project**update-pg9** Author: spike_202, Location: West midsPosted: Tue Jun 26, 2012 8:13 am ---- And me 2bh I think it will of lost power due to the longer trumpets but gained more mid range torque witch I don't mind as it's not very often I can open it up fully in 3rd round by me any way so more midrange is perfect for me. Can't wait for the fuleing to be sorted out mainely as it will run smoother.
#153: Re: **Spike's Project**update-pg9** Author: usher, Location: northallertonPosted: Tue Jun 26, 2012 8:31 am ---- is it running rich or lean at the moment
mine was running so lean i was told at rs tununig that i would have melted my cams if i went on the track with it
#154: Re: **Spike's Project**update-pg9** Author: spike_202, Location: West midsPosted: Tue Jun 26, 2012 9:02 am ---- Rich mate as I've had extra head work done recently and needed it done then but wanted to wait till it was all done.
#155: Re: **Spike's Project**update-pg9** Author: usher, Location: northallertonPosted: Tue Jun 26, 2012 9:04 am ---- so you should be saving fuel after the rr session, whats the spec list of your engine now
#156: Re: **Spike's Project**update-pg9** Author: spike_202, Location: West midsPosted: Tue Jun 26, 2012 9:13 am ---- Lol hopefully usher.
#157: Re: **Spike's Project**update-pg9** Author: spike_202, Location: West midsPosted: Tue Jun 26, 2012 11:11 am ---- Woop woop just back from work and these had arrived

#158: Re: **Spike's Project**update-pg11** Author: spike_202, Location: West midsPosted: Tue Jul 03, 2012 12:18 am ---- Got the rear support fitted last night, then started to rain so I didn't get chance to sort out the lap belt inner anker point.
Because I want to keep most of the trim on I just need to make the slit bigger were the standard rear belt comes from the rear quarter so it looks oem.Pics will follow
#159: Re: **Spike's Project**update-pg11** Author: usher, Location: northallertonPosted: Mon Aug 20, 2012 12:19 pm ---- any up date on rr session or engine mounts
#160: Re: **Spike's Project**update-pg11** Author: spike_202, Location: West midsPosted: Mon Aug 20, 2012 2:21 pm ---- Yes mate I had that done last month haven't got the mounts fitted yet bud as I've had my bike to spend money on lol,
It dyno'd at 204 but they wanted my rev limet upped to 8k and it would of Easily made over 210 but as it's a Dailey driver, I said i didn't want to,*just for the sake of a pritty graph* there word is good enuf as they have a very accurate RR. 2bh it's quick enuf as it stands anyway, really pleased with the mid range torque from the 90mm trumpets it's 1/2 stripped so it weighs less so things are going well ATM how's your project looking? #161: Re: **Spike's Project**update-pg11** Author: usher, Location: northallertonPosted: Mon Aug 20, 2012 4:42 pm ---- thats good figures, have you a spec list i know you have tbs and port and polised head
mine looking ok atm just waiting till next week then ill have the 22mm tbs in as i cant afford to refurb it this year and i can see the point in having the tbs and not fitting them for another year, main this last month was mot stuff
its looking a little poor atm with laquer peeling all over the rear bumper and rust on the doors but ill re spray it my self once i have it mechanically sorted (throttle bodies, rear axel refurb and undersealed)

Please do
Been looking at 106 rallyes and gtis today for a new project idea, want to make it like this really kind of oem and subtle but as a bit of a sleeper
Don't think it would be too heavy at all, only concern that I would have that it would be much harder to build up this engine and then transplant it than to just to do a gti engine anyway for similar power
But seeing as it's already done, would be worth it for sure
#165: Re: **Spike's Project**update-pg11** Author: spike_202, Location: West midsPosted: Sun Aug 26, 2012 3:22 am ---- I will harry 1st ive got to get a run a round and my mrs driving so I can take mine off the road.
To get a 106 engine up to this power you would need to spend easily 6-7k.
I don't think it would be to heavy either harry as the old clios had a 2.0 engine, loads of v6 conversions are poping up now and no matter what people say is a heavy engine I've seen one on a engine crane lol.
Sure a tuned 1.6 would be more revvy/quicker off the Mark than 2.0 but there's no replacement for displacement I've got everything done now anyways so just transplanting it over would be cheaper option i think.
