Bought a HDI, 180 Replica Project.

#1: Bought a HDI, 180 Replica Project. Author: MartyParty, Location: Newcastle Upon Tyne PostPosted: Thu May 10, 2012 4:12 pm

So I bought an absolute HEAP of a HDI from my local area a few weeks ago. In Firedance Orange, 130,000 miles, MOT'd and Taxed.

Only cost me £500.

It needed a new bonnet and a new wing.

After 2 days of ownership, I found it needed a new rear axle, the 2 front hubs, Discs and Pads, Handbrake cable needed replaced, brake pipes, track rod end, strut top and the bearings.

So this cost me a fortune (feeling very ripped off).

Anyways, sourced a 180 interior from Birmingham (luckily was working there and picked it up and brought it back) for £180!! Bargain. So I fitted these and I fitted the phase 2 rears.

Also, bought a new bonnet which I fitted today and a bonnet grille.
Bought some morette's in black, SP handbrake, gearknob and gaitor, as well as the leather binnacle.

I also have the wing to go on tomorrow, as well as spraying the inner roof lining black, the pillars too, and also all the bump strips.

Should have my graphite grey vortex on by the end of the month / mid june also (Still paying for them!).

Should be looking good soon.

What do you recommend? White vinyl wrap or full firedance respray?

Can get both at a similar price.

Cheers!

Martin.

Not the best of photos but here is one anyways!

Yeah I was thinking that too, going to get the dents banged out, all of the mods I want, then decide what to do.

I abso love the firedance colour, but white stands out so much, especially with the black theme I'm going to go with.

Either that, or stay with firedance and matt black the bonnet and roof! Hmmm.....

Why not just sorce parts that are firedance orange? Cheaper so then you've got money for the other jobs?

Haha, I can only get my original car colour done for quite cheap Sad Or it'd be something wild like the porsche gts green, or a yellow or something!

Boo!

That would also cost me a fortune mate, lots of bits have marks on them.

Least when it's sprayed, I know the full lot looks the same, with no marks anywhere. Smile
