#1: 8v turbo :) Author: Adam2061994, Location: WrexhamPosted: Fri May 11, 2012 4:07 am ---- right i have been offered a ci tuning basic turbo conversion kit, only the stage 1 turbo kit, my mate offered it me for 500, its around 2500 on the website, hes got everything which is in the kit, they say its a straight bolt on kit which runs 6psi of boost, they also say you don't have to do no engine management or internal modifications, people are saying tho you need to remap the ecu, so i don't know what to believe, how does it work, the turbo kit is for a saxo vtr but will fit on the 206 xs 1.6 8v as they are identical engines, any uphands on this?

It's fine for a small amount of boost.
#12: Re: 8v turbo :) Author: Seabook, Posted: Fri May 11, 2012 5:23 am ---- mattie done that before, and the engine blown up after 3 months?
#13: Re: 8v turbo :) Author: Jammie_1989, Location: ManchesterPosted: Fri May 11, 2012 6:03 am ---- For the £800 (turbo and insurance) you coult just sell your xsi and buy a gti and not have the reliabilty issues you will come accross by fitting the turbo. Also doesn't sound like you know what your doing so I wouldn't be attempting the turbo fit as every problem you come accross will need looking at by a garage.
#14: Re: 8v turbo :) Author: Abzynthe, Posted: Fri May 11, 2012 7:28 am ---- Just get this, much cheaper

#22: Re: 8v turbo :) Author: Addaz, Location: SuffolkPosted: Fri May 11, 2012 11:49 am ---- I cant say jack s**t really
But if you want it done properly, expect over the 2.5k mark home built like im doing
And trust me your engine wont last, he will HAVE to be run on optimax to prevent pre ignition. For what your doing £500 is a bit much, as you can pick up the same but DYI kit for around £200.
You will probably see 130ish max as it will be so low pressure, and side note, 7psi? Try 4

Ironically, too little money
I really cant grasp how a 1.4 can literally drain you of money so fast

#28: Re: 8v turbo :) Author: MartyParty, Location: Newcastle Upon TynePosted: Fri May 11, 2012 6:43 pm ---- Yup. I don't see the excitement in ending your 'only once' life screaming in a ball of flames in a 206 flying down a country lane. No thanks! Sell yours. Save the cash on the turbo. Save up another 500 and buy a 180. Seriously. Much more capable.of handling a turbo if that's the route you want. Or buy a hdi. Bigger turbo. Bigger intercooler. De cat and map. Looking at least 150 bhp and more torque than you can wave your stick at.....

My 'kit' isnt an off the shelf product, its everything you need but resourced cheaper than going direct to a company
And trust me mate, if your doing you might as well do it properly rather than get no real gain at all
And seabook, the reason you dont see one is because they dont supply one
