Hey, back with another issue... Sad

Yesterday I drove for about half hour, I don't motorway drive that much anyway, but when I got the where I was going, I noticed that these pipes(?) I think they're pipes, not sure if they're actually hollow or not though, but anyway, they were red hot, like Oven hot, and I'm not sure if anything should be that hot on the inside of the car, but then I've never felt them before.

They run on the left hand of the centre console, behind the dash, I took a pic

Is this normal? if not do you have any ideas what it might be?

Also, I'll add that I didn't have the heating on in the car at-all, and on the way back I had the air con on full, but it still got hot.

I hope someone can help, I have a 3 hour journey ahead of me in 2 weeks Confused

Coolant runs though then into the car regardless of whether you have the heater on or not.

Can't tell for sure from your picture, could be the heater pipes, but what ever they are I'm sure they're supposed to be like it.

thats the heater matrix pipes that are next to the glove box.

if the engine has been running for a while and them pipes are still cold then the matrix is blocked Wink

yup sure is Very Happy

there allways hot when the engines at running temp , its just the part of the box the heater matrix is inside of gets closed off so no hot air is going to the blower vents.

Seeing as the engine's normal running temp is around 90 degree's C it will burn you if your stupid enough to touch one of the pipes carrying the coolant.

Go boil the kettle & pour it over your hand, you will get much the same result Laughing
