#138: Re: SINFUL DESIGN GTi 180 Track Project Author: SinfulDesignCom, Location: Ashford, KentPosted: Tue Oct 09, 2012 5:08 pm ---- Well, its been a while since my last update, but I finally got round to sorting the start of the rear suspension tonight - and the hardest job by a long way - changing the rear axle bushes.
I got my Peugeot Sport Aluminium bushes last week, and then had to wait for my friend who owns a garage to give me a couple of hours as I didn't fancy doing this job on the deck...
Relatively easy job and took a little under 2 hours start to finish. Also took the oportunity to change the flexy hoses for my stainless braided items. The old bushes were a b*****d to get out - used a air-powered punch in the end. The alu bushes - be warned those looking to do the same - are a right pain to get in. A very interference fit!!
Have fitted these before to my old 206 and they really make a difference.
Next up will be the rear shocks, re-bush and re-fit lateral arms and then rear brakes... and then.. Engine time.. bring on the throttle bodies!!! YEAAAAHHHH
LOVELY NEW PUG SPORT BUSHES
AXLE REMOVED FROM CAR
AXLE ON THE DECK READY FOR BUTCHERING
OLD BUSHES REMOVED FROM AXLE
NEW BUSHES INTO AXLE

#142: Re: SINFUL DESIGN GTi 180 Track Project Author: Seabook, Posted: Wed Oct 10, 2012 2:14 pm ---- i will definitely get someone to press in the aluminum bush for me.
i did try freezing method withd block of wood, hammer and lub but that didn't help at all
#143: Re: SINFUL DESIGN GTi 180 Track Project Author: SinfulDesignCom, Location: Ashford, KentPosted: Wed Oct 10, 2012 4:37 pm ---- I will be painting the rear up to match the front - but will be a sod now it is fitted. Didnt have time to do this while off the car. My mate needed ramp space for the next day
We did use copper grease when fitting the bushes, but in fairness, my mate put the bushes in with the mallet and he is built like a brick sh*thouse....
#144: Re: SINFUL DESIGN GTi 180 Track Project Author: Seabook, Posted: Wed Oct 10, 2012 5:00 pm ---- alright...i weight less than 7 stone so that make sense.
#146: Re: SINFUL DESIGN GTi 180 Track Project Author: SinfulDesignCom, Location: Ashford, KentPosted: Fri Nov 23, 2012 7:00 pm ---- Been a while due to load of work, but.... Christmas has come early at the Sinful House this year courtesy of a lovely SS506 from our Dutch friends at Janspeed.. woo hoooooo... Hope to fit over t'weekend if weather is on my side.
Also scored some lovely poly zorst mounts to go with it. After all, there nothing worse than a set of tailpipes smacking a rear bumper...

I have worked for a performance exhaust manufacturer and they don't always pay so much attention when using the flange tools y'know.. =)
