Low n slow euro project

#1: Low n slow euro project Author: Nathan_FTTM, Location: United Kingdom PostPosted: Thu May 31, 2012 8:19 am

So I'm a new member to the site (hey) and just sorted myself a 1.1 2005 peugeot 206. Usually i'd be more inclined to buy dubs but when i saw this car goin pretty cheaply with little mileage i thought id try something different.

PLANS: I've plans for lowering the car on coilovers to start and maybe trying a more complex airbag system later on. Wheel wise im thinking maybe a set of calibre dubs with a stretched tyre n some spacers for a flush fitment. Arches will need rolled and so i may just put some wider rear arches on.

EXTERIOR: I like the paint colour n dont want to go too mad so im having the roof hopefully finished either in leather or black vinyl n maybe get an airbrush idea going. Deciding still on weather to go for the bad boy bonnet or to keep it simple with the more is less idea and also considering flushing the side bump strips.

INTERIOR: Im a fan of the 2 seater car idea with something clean in the rear so inside im hoping to get to recaro buckets finished in either black or cream leather. In the back id like to go with a false floor and a simple subwoofer set up either mounting them into the fake floor or in a custom box idea. door cards and dash trimmed in leather depending on money when i get to this point.

ANY FEEDBACK ON IDEAS, TIPS, ANYTHING POSSITIVE IS MORE THAN WELCOME. UPDATED AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE

PROGRESS 31/05/2012
Ok so insurance more or less cleaned me out so i spent what i had left on a new radio as the other one didnt work and a some good cleaning products to keep it clean. Hoping to get some new black mirriors and coilovers in the post this week or next.

If your gunna fork out best part of 3k for a pair of Recaro CS seats (either you buy them new or out of an Audi R* of some sort) why would you both with something as naff as Calibre..?

Best of luck with the project though...should be interesting to see how it all pans out.

Might aswell just get some 180 seats... alot cheaper, obviously no where near as good but you're looking at well over a grand for those seats second hand!

Height adjuster and slider handle is the giveaway...

Yeah im no longer going for those seats (yeah the price put me off) i was looking at audi tt seats, but to be honest the seats wont be being bought until a long way down the line. why not calibres? any other wheel suggestions? want dish

The wheels choice list is huge, but limited for a 206/ anything french, purely due to the fact, dish wheels have always been made for VAG cars...b******s.

But what sort of budget do you have to spend on wheels..? But I'd avoid Calibre like a plaque, it's along the lines of all the very cheaply made wheels within the world, such as BK Racing etc, but from what I've heard they are like a block of cheese.

I spent so much on my 206 when I had it. I gained hardly anything from it though ultimately. If it's your cup of tea, go for it, but I'd much rather put that towards a new car. You'd be able to sell that car and use the rest of the money to just buy an Audi TT if you wanted..
