I want to color coding the door guard so I tried to pull it off but I could not success. I was afraid i could break it. Do you know if I would removed the door panels from the inside first to push it off from behind or I can simply use a metal ruler covered with soft cloth and levering directly on it from the outside. Thank you so much.

they are held on with plastic clips, with the front ones, you need to pull it up at the back, to get the first one out, then you can push it off by pushing it towards the front of the car, the back one is the opposite

Don't mean to hijack the thread. But what about the front and rear bumper ones? I want to colour code just the front and rear bumpers ya see.

Cheers!

Hi MrMorris I already removed it just removed the whole bumper and push it off but I think I can also push it from inside but it's way too difficult and to removed the whole bumper is more easy and less time to spend.

Thank you for the quick answer Antkee. May I ask you if I get it clear. Do you mean I have to pull it up at the back and get the first clip off then push it toward to the front and the back is the same process but opposite which mean pull it up at the back and push it toward to the rear. Am I right?

To remove the front and rear ones, you don't need to remove the whole bumper.

All you need is a reasonable size flathead screwdriver (wrap with masking tape to avoid scratching paint)
There is a tab on each side that holds it to the bumper, so just push the screwdriver into the edge and push the bumpstrip away from the bumper (that will give you enough room to see the tab clearly)
Press the tab down with the edge of the screwdriver and push bumpstrip away from the car. This should give you enough room to get your fingers underneith the bumpstrip above the foglight (just before it gets thin) then just pull it straight away from the car. It makes a big pop/crack sound (makes you think you have broken it!) but it just comes straight off.

For the rear, there is 3 or 4 Torx screws along the boot shut that need removing first.

Refitting is just pushing them back on until they pop into place.

Hope that helps

ahh thank you very much! cuz removing the rear bumper is impossible on my car, screws/bolts underneath have seized badly. cracked one off (leaving the thread inside) earlier.

ill try the screwdriver trick tomorrow and see how it goes! cheers again!
