I've just fitted a new wishbone to my gti 180 today and whilst doing it the passenger side driveshaft just fell out! once id put it back in and replaced my wishbone i road tested the car only to discover the gearbox was leaking oil out from.round the drive shaft.
i have one stripped the driveshaft taken it out and there doesn't seem to be any clip to keep it in place could someone tell me.if there is suppose to be a clip inside the box or on the end of the drive shaft thanks

they just push into place iirc but you may have done the oil seal in they are cheap enough to replace from stealers.

definately sounds like the oil ring. They should stay put during the job, but it might be that gone that it fell out. Always better to forward plan and grab a new one when you are there for the sake of a couple of squid...

I just had a new seal on drivers side. Cost £60 labour and parts.

Make sure it's right in the box if it's not then it will leak
