#1: gti 180 passenger drive shaft issues Author: Grebby_gti180, Location: DerbyshirePosted: Sat Jun 02, 2012 1:54 pm ---- I've just fitted a new wishbone to my gti 180 today and whilst doing it the passenger side driveshaft just fell out! once id put it back in and replaced my wishbone i road tested the car only to discover the gearbox was leaking oil out from.round the drive shaft.
i have one stripped the driveshaft taken it out and there doesn't seem to be any clip to keep it in place could someone tell me.if there is suppose to be a clip inside the box or on the end of the drive shaft thanks

They should stay put during the job, but it might be that gone that it fell out. Always better to forward plan and grab a new one when you are there for the sake of a couple of squid...
