#1: Speedo Issues Author: RandyMcShagSwindon, Location: SwindonPosted: Sun Jun 17, 2012 9:28 am ---- Hi all. Just brought my 206 friday. Perfectly fine on test drive. Pay money and drive home. Next day speedo starts playing up. Some times it just drops all the way down, but most of the time, its registering no where near what speed i am doing. Is this a regular fault? Any ideas what this could be?

Usually the speedo unit itself is at fault
If this does not work then I say replace the speedo sensor
Is the needle dropping to zero say when your doing 30?

Also as your 206 is 99 year. The millage is not stored on the ecu, so if you find speedo cluster you would have to get the millage adjusted

If your speedo is a pre-plex one, this will happen due to design fault. There's a small plastic pin holding the little gear in the cluster motor causing the problem. U can super glue it back or just solder a metal pin to replace it if u have good diy skill.
