It looks like a cheap run around but 'sensibly priced' is a bit off, I think they mean completely overpriced
Wouldn't pay over a grand for it for sure

Still looking for a 206 LOL. going to start to view some this weekend.
I have noticed on alot of the 206's that the silver engine cover on the 8v 1.4 etc seem to always show rust. Is this a problem with the 206
Chris

Its only the rocker cover, there cheap enough to replace if it really bothers you & only 2 bolts & a gasket.
Dont let a simple rusty rocker cover put you of if the rest of the car is ok.

2001 / 51 plate is change over year between non multiplexed & multiplexed electrical systems.
83K miles, its due a timing belt & tensioner unless its already been done recently.
Style is near povety spec.

The 1.4 is already underpowered enough to make you stressed.

Depends what you're used to..
But, Mrs. is 'alright' at 55K Km (2007), mine is sluggish at 95K Km (2001).
Stick another couple of passengers in there with the aircon running and forget it in both cases.
They're slow.
Both impecably maintained by yours trully, and I'm taking into account electric throttle/ECU software version difference.
#56: Re: Looking to Buy a 206, Questions? Author: MrBSI, Location: What's it to you? ? ?Posted: Wed Jul 11, 2012 1:09 pm ---- My 2003 car has done nearly 88K miles & looked after by Peugeot until the warranty ran out now its looked after by me.
I went from a 125 bhp 2 litre 405 to the 75 bhp 206.
The 206 doesnt have the outright top end the 405 did but its just as nippy of the lights & motorway cruising speed.
Isnt much difference in weight 206 is about 50 kilos lighter

Yes, we both love them both very much and they're perfect for our needs.
Most of the time it's in Athens traffic and are quite economic for the ride/tax.
I don't know how they fair in UK motorway with longer distances involved etc.

206 is ok BUT there are much better motorway / long journey cars out there.
Done 700 miles in one day in the 206 before.
#59: Re: Looking to Buy a 206, Questions? Author: V9977, Location: Athens, GreecePosted: Wed Jul 11, 2012 1:27 pm ---- We go to Corfu which is hundreds of miles away and a day's drive, but that usually takes special planning..
