hi guys,

Just picked my car back up from the garage after buying it last week with 75k on the clock I got the timing belt done as it had never had it done before. While driving the car I was noticing it has been rocking a little while idoling and chugging while driving at low speed... mentioned this to the mechanic today so he had a look and suspects it could be a faulty "Coil Pack" genuine pug one is 167 before VAT which seems a tad steep, jumped on ebay where they seem to be cheaper but im not sure if its the correct part.

Also my passenger door is missing its check strap which is a nightmare as when ever one of my mates get in the car they allow the door to fly open which in turn allows the wing to dent the door ! this part genuine is around 25 quid said the mechanic which I didnt feel was bad at all.

However im wondering if you could point me to where would be best to purchase both parts and if they are easy enough to fit myself? Coil pack is seemingly " 2 or 3 bolts and a quick job" the check strap is a little more complex apprently.

this coil pack... best place to get one of these ?

is it the things going on ebay for around 50 quid? if so why is the garage sourcing it for 167 ?

if i remember correctly it's only two bolts and a plug to un-do - quick 10-15min job

I bought a new one on eBay for £50 that someone had never fitted and never had a problem from it.

Just make sure it's a Bougicord coil.

Try your local GSF.

Safely disconnect battery.
Two 10mm bolts.
One plug.
Slide out coil.
Remove plugs.
Fit new plugs.
Fit new coil.
Put bolts back in.
Secure plug.
Reconnect battery.
