Waterpump question
-> 206 Problems

#1: Waterpump question Author: fossie, Location: Spennymoor PostPosted: Tue Jun 26, 2012 9:31 am
    ----
My 180 is in getting the cambelt and waterpump done however he has just rang and said after fitting the pump its leaking everywhere. He stated that the old pump had the plastic impellor and the new one was metal..... im sure i read somewhere that the waterpump replacement has to be 'like for like'..........

Its staying at the garage and they said it may just be a faulty part but any suggestions?

Regards
Lee

Wouldnt have thought so, quite a decent garage -EdMars in Spennymoor...
Dropped me car off at 9am and they rang me at 3:30 saying he had just finished but found the leak - which is probably about right - even said he had to take the mount off and move the engine over to one side which is right when ive read up about doing it on here

The old plastic housing was cracked hence the leak - all fixed and sorted now - finished price Belt, tensioners and pump £352.
