#1: Some bumper help. Author: Jack123, Location: Earl Shilton UKPosted: Mon Jul 02, 2012 12:56 pm ---- So, basically I was looking to CC my 206, and I ordered a front and rear, cherry red, non-sports bumper from ebay (99p each, right steal)
But basically, I received them today, and they are obviously not cherry red, seller is refusing to refund or anything, claiming he sent the correct ones.
This is what I received.
Just wanted to confirm they are defiantly not Cherry Red, and I believe they are in fact Diablo Red?
Also, if you are interested this is the images the seller posted on the listing, links to the listing below:
What can I do? I asked the seller about if he just posted the wrong ones (As I believed he delivered by hand, as they were dumped in my back garden with a small note through the door saying left behind house.) would it be possible to deliver the right ones, and then swap fro the ones sent by mistake at the same time, he has not replied to that message yet.
Love hate relationship with ebay once again...
#2: Re: Some bumper help. Author: Mikey2uk, Location: StevenagePosted: Mon Jul 02, 2012 1:01 pm ---- They are Diablo Red, as the seller put them as cherry red and they clearly not you could open a dipute with ebay and paypal but its a hard one as he may have not even known that they were wrong
#3: Re: Some bumper help. Author: paul_c, Location: UKPosted: Mon Jul 02, 2012 1:03 pm ---- Pragmatically: sell them on; then try again buying the right colour, this time going to collect them in person to be sure, and paying cash on collection.
There's a good chance the eBay or paypal claim will not go through, since they won't know the difference between cherry red and diablo red, and why its significant. Worth a go though, costs nothing to raise a "not as described" complaint?
They are Diablo Red, as the seller put them as cherry red and they clearly not you could open a dipute with ebay and paypal but its a hard one as he may have not even known that they were wrong
But yet the images he posted are clearly Cherry Red? Or is that just me?

Nope they are Diablo mate
Ah, dammit.
#7: Re: Some bumper help. Author: Harry, Location: StaffordPosted: Mon Jul 02, 2012 1:12 pm ---- Due to the light it's difficult to tell from his pictures, but from your pictures they are definitely diablo red.
Direct him to this thread if he thinks they are correct.
It doesn't matter if he knew or didn't know, it's his responsibility to make sure his listing is correct not yours.
If he seriously isn't willing to co operate and his stubborn that they are cherry red (just send pictures they really aren't that similar) then open up a dispute.
#8: Re: Some bumper help. Author: marc206, Location: Bourne, LincsPosted: Mon Jul 02, 2012 1:13 pm ---- On the Ebay listening he's marked returns as accepted. And they are not cherry red but the darker red, open a case or tell him he marked them as returns accepted.
#9: Re: Some bumper help. Author: Howey, Location: Kings LynnPosted: Mon Jul 02, 2012 1:14 pm ---- Or, just suck up your mighty £1.98 loss. Not a massive biggie is it?
#10: Re: Some bumper help. Author: Jack123, Location: Earl Shilton UKPosted: Mon Jul 02, 2012 1:17 pm ---- I will send him the images I took, and ask him if he simply sent the wrong ones, as he sells a lot of 206 bumpers and such from looking at his store and feedback.
Ah well, if it comes to it I will open a case, so disappointed
Or, just suck up your mighty £1.98 loss. Not a massive biggie is it?
It was a total of £20 with postage, which, when you are on £2.60 a hour soon adds up!
#12: Re: Some bumper help. Author: paul_c, Location: UKPosted: Mon Jul 02, 2012 1:24 pm ---- £2.60 an hour! In the UK? I thought there was a minimum wage....???
#13: Re: Some bumper help. Author: Howey, Location: Kings LynnPosted: Mon Jul 02, 2012 1:24 pm ---- Oh I see, sorry about that then! I just assumed that if he dumped them in your garden then you wouldnt have paid for postage!

Yeah, It was £1.98 + £18 postage.
I still can't work out how they were delivered, a courier wouldn't of left them in the garden, nor would they of shoved an oil covered paypal invoice with the note on, however, the items came from Bradford, I just can't work it out.
Meh You live and learn.

I'm 17, £2.60 is the Minimum Apprentiship wage for under 18's, as I am on an Apprentiship
Just seen some of the sellers feedback, Looks like it will be resolved through ebay
#15: Re: Some bumper help. Author: Walton450, Location: LeicesterPosted: Mon Jul 02, 2012 1:33 pm ---- What's the paint like on the rear bumper. Is there any marks
#16: Re: Some bumper help. Author: paul_c, Location: UKPosted: Mon Jul 02, 2012 1:33 pm ---- Oh that sucks. Yes, delivery like that is possible. There does seem to be a sub-culture of cheap and cheerful delivery companies which neglect to do the basics, such as packaging. It might have been the scrappy's own recovery truck which does a round trip of dropping off various parts, on the way to/from collecting a dead vehicle, or something. I've had it a few times for really cheap parts.
The original advice still stands - relist them, try again. After all, what's better, a £1.98 refund, or a bit more money if you sell them at a better price? You'll probably even cover the delivery cost and be in profit.

There is a few little marks on each corner, nothing major, looks like with a good wash they would be fine, a couple of broken clips, I can get some better images tomorrow hopefully if you want to see them.
If I was to sell them it would be pickup only, Hate posting big things, nothing but bad experiences with them, Yours for £23 so I break even thats for the pair, wouldn't really want to sell them separate.
They are still as they arrived earlier today, so still in the black plastic, so I can't see them properly.

Worst delivery company I've used before is probably XPD Express, horrible service.
If I sell them and break even, I'll be happy.

Author: macca1411, Location: Westhoughton, LancashirePosted: Mon Jul 02, 2012 3:42 pm ---- If a delivery company had delivered them, then there should have been a bar-coded address label on the packaging along with a track and trace number. Even the cheap and cheerful companies use tracking. The delivery company name would usually be printed on the label too. In past experience, most companies require a POD unless the customer has specified that they can leave in a safe location. The back garden would be classed as a safe location in most circumstances. I have seen all kinds of things shoved through a door to say where a parcel has been left when a driver has run out of calling cards. Never seen an oily ebay invoice though. Just re-advertise them if you don't want to get them sprayed. If you sell them for £1 each and charge £20 postage (which seems cheap for 2 bumpers) you'll have made a profit.

I don't know of one delivery company that will package the item for you unless you pay them for the service such as the partnership Sony and PC World have with DPD.

Neah, no address or anything on the bumpers, they are rapped together in what seems like bin bags, so I assume no courier was used, I had no contact with any specifying that they could be left.
