I've been and bought four new 509t bulbs for the MFD display as it wasn't working. Now its working but is so dim it might aswell not be on! Also the heater display is nowhere near as bright as it could be too... Any suggestions greatly appreciated...

check the fuses if its that dim, failing that try the left button within the speedo housing as this changes the brightness of the bulbs etc.

hope that helps.
