Heater vents
-> 206 Problems

#1: Heater vents Author: DanT, Location: Torbay, England PostPosted: Thu Jul 12, 2012 4:59 pm

Hi, got a slight issue with my drivers side heater vent, when i bought the car it had a cheapy phone holder stuck into it, which seems to have slightly damaged the directional mechanism part. I'm wondering is the inner vent part itself removable or do i have to replace the whole thing, ie the surround etc. As my car is a Gti 180 it has different surround etc and wanted to know if i could just get the inner vent part from any model 206?
Thanks a lot. Dan.

The directional part is a rubber "band" that holds onto small pins on the rear of each vertical blade. My guess is that one of the pins has snapped off. It would probs be best and easiest to just change the whole vent. It will only cost you £3-4 from the scrappy.

Cheers i figured it was that sort of set up but just wanted to check before i go and remove one from a car. As long as i can change the vent itself and keep the surround i'm happy! Smile

Yea the vent "pod" pops out. That is the part I meant when I said will be easier to just swap the vent, not the surround.
