Keep up the good work!
#22: Re: Aegean Blue GTi 180 - Coilovers & more - 19/09/12 Author: DanT, Location: Torbay, EnglandPosted: Mon Oct 08, 2012 12:19 pm ---- Only a small update as i was intending to get the wheels and tires sorted, sadly that is going to have to wait a while because the awful exhaust that came on the car when i bought it decided to let go.
Since i don't like it and wanted to replace it with a Janspeed anyway i just went for it instead of trying to repair the one i had. Much prefer the noise already, so much quieter than what i had.
You all know what they look like but i'll just leave this here...
Hopefully tires and wheels sorted next! Insurance isnt far away though so see what happens.
#23: Re: Aegean Blue GTi 180 - Janspeed fitted 08/10/12 :) Author: JamieM, Posted: Mon Oct 08, 2012 12:26 pm ---- How are you finding the car dude? Aren't as bad as reviews would have you believe are they?
Really jealous of your coilies want some but I'm not going to be spending as much due to the other project. Exhaust looks good sits well what bushes did you install?
#24: Re: Aegean Blue GTi 180 - Janspeed fitted 08/10/12 :) Author: DanT, Location: Torbay, EnglandPosted: Mon Oct 08, 2012 5:15 pm ---- Hi mate yeah i'm really enjoying it, the crap tires on it arent doing a great deal for the car though at the moment! To be honest i think they're great cars, all the bad reviews mean to me is that they arent as common as everything else! Around my area at least.
Haha thanks mate they're nothing special only mid-range. The ride is very good with them though, infact its possibly a bit better than on the tired standard stuff since i replaced the top mounts/drop links at the same time. Still waiting for parts so i can lower the rear and get the front down a touch more though. Which ones are you thinking of going for?
The exhaust is just using standard bushes actually, i tried to use the powerflex ones i had but they seem a little too long and the backbox sat a bit too low.

Yeah that's what I think aswell, makes them feel special lol
Those are the coilies I was originally after but too much wonga now haha, I'm looking at 'FK AK Supertech Coilovers' or I was after the cheap JOM or possibly ProSports. I know they're all cheap but I've heard good reviews on the JOM's but then UZ on here told me about the FKS and they have been trading for longer and have much better products available so I'm hoping they retain some of the quality in their cheaper units too
Look on my thread for the bush's I use eventually the stock ones sag quite alot. Really liking your car though, good choice of mods thus far
Anymore plans??

Yeah thats fair enough, i'd probably go FK's out of the ones you've mentioned to be honest, never heard of the Prosport ones, heard the JOM ones are ok for the money but obviously not great. At least FK are pretty well established so i would think even the cheap ones arent too bad.
Awesome i will do mate thanks. And thanks i've got quite a few plans but things like insurance are on the way! Mainly just get the wheels sorted and i'm going to give it a major service soon, cambelt etc for now.

A couple of pics ( second one is on a slight slope ) More than happy with how it sits!
Also having 4 new tyres and wheels refurbed so this is how im rolling this week haha
And a cheeky picture of mine and my bosses cars a couple of weeks ago
