#1: Couple of problems...Any help is appreciated :) Author: SWHdi, Location: United KingdomPosted: Tue Jul 17, 2012 2:17 pm ---- Hey guys
My SW has developed a couple of faults, and i could do with some help sorting them out, first off the speedo doesn't work, it doesn't register miles travelled and the trip/mpg computer doesn't read true, i've had it to a mate of my dads (he has PP) and it's coming back with 3 abs sensors faulty, ( 1 front and both rear) i knew 1 was faulty, could this be the cause of the speedo not working? BTW where's the best place for ABS sensors?? lol
Cheers

Same, when my 180 had all its ABS faults it never effected the speedo.

Non-ABS you get it from gearbox
But you can also change the settings on a ABS car to get it from the gearbox

So does the 180's signal come from the gear box then?
#7: Re: Couple of problems...Any help is appreciated :) Author: Lee, Location: EnglandPosted: Tue Jul 17, 2012 3:39 pm ---- Nah shouldn't do.
People sometimes change it to the gearbox when they cba to fix the ABS rings, means the EML won't flick up
#8: Re: Couple of problems...Any help is appreciated :) Author: Big_Rich180, Posted: Tue Jul 17, 2012 3:40 pm ---- Why would mine have worked with the ABS/ESP faults then?
My dad had it from new so no one could have changed it I wouldnt have though.
#9: Re: Couple of problems...Any help is appreciated :) Author: Lee, Location: EnglandPosted: Tue Jul 17, 2012 3:43 pm ---- Was yours a rear fault or front ABS? Can't remember
Speedo works off the front two, in fact might only be the N/S front

Doesnt the speedo work of the n/s front BUT the mileage reading come from one of the back sensors.
Im pretty sure it uses 2 sensor to get both bits of info.

#14: Re: Couple of problems...Any help is appreciated :) Author: SWHdi, Location: United KingdomPosted: Wed Jul 18, 2012 4:23 am ---- Thanks for the replies, I have been underneath and checked gearbox for any sort of connector, only one I can find is on the front of the box, reverse sensor maybe?
Anyway best give the local pug dealer a bell.
Again cheers for the advice.
