#1: Starter motor permantely live Author: Nellie, Location: DevonPosted: Fri Jul 20, 2012 12:33 pm ---- Hi I have done a quickforum search for info on this issue but with no luck.
The starter motor on my 2002 1.4hdi occasionally all of a sudden goes permantely live, yes even when the engine is running.
I have already replaced the starter motor so It should not be at fault.
I rang my local peugeot specialist who said yes it is a fairly common problem and I need to replace the ignition switch wiring.
Can anybody else ot there confirm this diagnosis?
Or any better ideas
Many thanks
Neil

#3: Re: Starter motor permantely live Author: V9977, Location: Athens, GreecePosted: Fri Jul 20, 2012 1:09 pm ---- There was a Peugeot Info-flash ages ago about this exact issue and they
changed ignition barrell supplier who guaranteed the part to better specs.
Also causes engine run-on in other fail-modes.

Peugeot main dealer can order you a barrel made to your key number.
They would need to see your V5C registraion document for proof of owner ship & photo id before they would order it, special order part from France & takes about 2 weeks.
Peugeot part number is 4162 Z1 - Multiplexed igntion barrel £119.15 including VAT.
Might be easier / cheaper just to get a 2nd hand lock set of a multiplex 206.
Get the 2 door barrels, the fuel cap & the ignition barrel, make sure it comes with a key blade to swop in to your remote fob, all easy diy.
