Anybody know how you change the cigarette lighter bulb? I have no idea how to access it. Any ideas?

Take the window switch out and the gear-stick gator and you can get your hand it to pull it off the side of the socket.

Got the window switch out, the gaiter off and the lighter is loose but won't come out all the way. I think the lighter needs to be split from the orange outer part but it's impossible!

The metal middle part of the lighter socket will slide upwards & out from the orange plastic diffuser part BUT there a very tight fit together.

Ended up breaking the orange part on my lighter so I wouldn't bother. Other way would be to whip out the full trim section that houses the lighter.

I had to take my cig lighter out when 700 miles from home to charge the satnav. It's not easy to get out as there is something like a sensor on it about the size of a small pencil eraser. i just popped that off with a little persuasion and out came the cig lighter then re-attached it back when new lighter holder was in place.

Just done mine this morning.

Remove the window switch / gear gaitor.

You will see a small black plastic bit clipped to the orange bit of the lighter socket, unclip that black piece as thats the bulb holder unit.

OR

Unplug the lighter socket then there's 2 clips holding the metal inner to the plastic outer, slide the socket upwards leaving the orange plastic outer in the console, then remove it through the hole.

Unclip the grey bulb holder from the black housing to get to the bulb.

Whichever way you try its a small, tight & fiddly job.

I found changing the com2000 easier Laughing
