I picked my car up two weeks ago, and for whatever reason- it has now developed a terrible whining between 1500-2000 rpm accelerating and decelerating in 2nd and 3rd.
Is it worth investigating, or is a replacement going to be the easiest and cheapest option? I see them on eBay around the £125 mark, but how much am I going to be looking at for a mechanic to actually swap it?
Does 206info have an independent mechanic everyone likes to use?
Any help appreciated

Sounds bloody reasonable to me?! Anyone used these guys or heard of them?

you better ask them.
without stripping the box it is very hard to tell if it is good or not.

At least I know the box will be a good one. Only thing they don't change is the clutch but at 43k old I doubt that is too much of an issue.

Such a shame the gearbox has broken it is such a mint example other than this! Oh well, £420 fitted for an essentially new gearbox is cheap in my book anyway. My C4 VTS clutch kit cost over twice that :-S
