Stuck torsion bar

Hi all,
After changing the drivers side trail arm bearings the time has come to do the passenger side. I have hit a major snag though and that is the upper torsion bar will simply not move.

I have hammered the hell out of the trail arm, tried hitting the bar, heat and rust oil but still no movement. Not even the slightest give.

At the moment I have a socket and bolt sitting with some tension on the bar overnight but I'm not holding out much luck. When I hammer the trail arm, the arm moves slightly out at the bottom but the top doesn't budge where the torsion bar is holding tight. Both screws and shaped washers are removed.

Does anybody have any other ideas for freeing this damm thing up.

I'm getting that annoyed by the thing I was thinking of cutting it in two to get the trail arm off and then getting a replacement torsion bar.

Sods law, but in a good way.

IT'S FINALLY OUT.

So much harder than the otherside. It seems some pentatron heat and waiting worked. Thanks for the reply Seabook.
