Hi i have a 2005 206 gti 180 49k on the clock with starting issues when i start the car from cold or left for 12 hours it struggles to start first time when it does start its very lumpy and if you dap your foot on the accelerator it wants to cut out but when it's running it's a dream to drive i took it to the garage to have fault codes checked and there is none stored on removing the coil pack i did notice it has ngk spark plugs but not been able to remove them as only have a 21mm spark plug socket has any one else had the same problem? As I have been told its a coil pack on its way out

Ngk plugs won't help the issue. Clean map sensors throttle body. And replace the crank sensor there not expansive just had a similar problem with a corsa I was doing some work on no fault codes stored but crank sensor was knackerd.

What's the point of owning the car then? Should of got it fixed instead of telling you that

Hi I have done coil pack plugs still not starting well have now ordered a map sensor but have been told the problem might be down to the cambelt as it was changed over in January and if it was not tightened enough it might stretch and through the timing out

This may sound like a stupid thing, but i have once had a simalar problem myself with my 206 gti 138. Used to run the car, then come to it in the morning after running it at night, and it would struggle slightly to start. Checked everything ignition and sensor wise, no faults found. Same story with the diagbox software, no faults found. Turned out to be a small electrical drain on the battery. Never found the complete source of the electrical drain as I just put up with the struggling to start slightly.
