Author: nathdavies91, Posted: Sun Aug 12, 2012 7:55 am ---- My 180 gti is due a cambelt change and was wandering were the best place to get the kit from was apart from peugeot as they'll rape my wallet no doubt! whats everyone else put on theirs? and can u buy the whole lateral arm for the rear?

Then check to see of exhaust hits them?
Most proberbly the bushes need replacing.

Whichever one of those comes FIRST is when the belt should be replaced.
The rubber in the belt degrades with time & that's why manufacturers state a time limit on the belts service life span.

Also people must take into account when deciding whoever or not to change the water pump at the same time , that if your car is low mileage but you change the belt due to age chances are the water pump will be still in very good nick due to the fact you may have done barely and miles, unlike the belt which perishes over time the pump won't be effected over time as much as the effect of mileage ,if this makes sense.
And the new water pump needs to be of a good standard or it will probably be only just as good as the old pump and might not even last as long as the original water pump
