i can get the injector of another 206 that is being broken near me
my question is; are all the injectors the same? what i mean is, is injector 1 the same as 4? so if i took injector 1 from the other car to replace injector 4 on mine will it work?

#2: Re: injector help! Author: anton1989, Location: west midlandsPosted: Sat Sep 15, 2012 8:45 am ---- the garage aid injector 4 but i put the code in a website and it said cylinder 3? does this mean it injector 3?
#3: Re: injector help! Author: Seabook, Posted: Sat Sep 15, 2012 11:32 am ---- you can swap the position of the injector
#4: Re: injector help! Author: Harry, Location: StaffordPosted: Sat Sep 15, 2012 1:44 pm ---- If the garage were just going off the code, I would assume they got it wrong
#5: Re: injector help! Author: Edward, Location: In the garagePosted: Sat Sep 15, 2012 1:51 pm ---- I'm sure I've heard injector fault codes can actually be crank sensor faults.

it runs like s**t, could this still be crank sensor?
#8: Re: injector help! Author: macca1411, Location: Westhoughton, LancashirePosted: Sat Sep 15, 2012 4:22 pm ---- It could be. I'd change it to be on the safe side.
Second hand injectors could be just as bad as yours. You'll be better off buying a new set.
#9: Re: injector help! Author: anton1989, Location: west midlandsPosted: Sat Sep 15, 2012 4:56 pm ---- where is the crank sensor? is it a d.i.y job to replace? how much will it cost? i dont want to spend to much on the car as its being sold its already cost me £200 to put right inc m.o.t
#10: Re: injector help! Author: Seabook, Posted: Sat Sep 15, 2012 6:36 pm ---- i doubt crank sensor would cause it run like s***
it should be easy to find out which cylinder is missing and work from there, swap plug and injectors to isolated the problem before buying any parts!
#11: Re: injector help! Author: anton1989, Location: west midlandsPosted: Sun Sep 16, 2012 5:02 am ---- ok will be looking at this later, swap plug? can i change the plug on each injector? thought all 4 were on one part?
#12: Re: injector help! Author: Addaz, Location: SuffolkPosted: Sun Sep 16, 2012 6:05 am ---- Right
First off has the injector fault code gone? As Injector four is the one closest to the cambelt (french did the order backwards to the norm) and NOT the one closest to the gearbox, that is number one
Before changing it, move that injector to the one along and see if the fault code moves, if it does, then you know to replace the injector. As long as its the correct colour/engine size you should be fine
Any thing else?

thanks addaz
i cant get the fault code read again because i had it done when i took it for an m.o.t and the car has no tax, m.o.t, or insurance, i had to get a days insurance to get it there for the m.o.t and i dont want to buy another days just to get the codes read
i need to know what injector im moving because the garage said 4 but when i checked the code myself it said 3? should i just move 3 to 2 and see how it runs?
wont it still run s**t no matter where i move the injector?
looking at the engine head on is injector 3 far left or far right?

Neither, it's one of the middle ones.

About £70 from the dealer and less than £30 for the ones that you need to replace in a couple of thousand miles.
#16: Re: injector help! Author: Addaz, Location: SuffolkPosted: Sun Sep 16, 2012 12:47 pm ---- Tbh i would get a cheap code reader of ebay - £30 or so, one with 02 sensor parameters is always handy
But i sort of need to know whether the code was for a misfire OR an injector fault. As a misfire on 3 (second from cambelt) could indicate a coil or spark plug.
One way of seeing if the fault is with 3 or 4 is to remove the HT Lead/Lug which sits over the spark and for example you remove number three and it runs the same then its 3.
Try it with 4 too though, if the running gets worse with which ever one remove than you know that cylinder is fine.
Only remove one at a time
Report back with your findings
#17: Re: injector help! Author: anton1989, Location: west midlandsPosted: Sun Sep 16, 2012 1:49 pm ---- i know its one in the middle, what i mean is, is it 3rd from the left of the car if your looking at it from the front or is it 3rd from the right?
never had to to check today addaz, will check in the week
whats the ht lead? i thing i get you, so remove the coilpack and take off one of the 4 things that are on it?
the mot station said it was for the injector, the car misfires loads when pulling off
#18: Re: injector help! Author: V9977, Location: Athens, GreecePosted: Sun Sep 16, 2012 5:36 pm ---- On Peugeot/Citroen vehicles cylinder 1 is on the right looking from the front.
