#1: 206 CLUTCH Yet Again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Author: nellyhaggis, Location: SheffieldPosted: Thu Sep 20, 2012 3:00 pm ---- 206 HDI 1.6 Clutch
Car has been remapped to 140 bhp and the clutch has managed to start slipping.
Had a new LUK one fitted 4 months ago and now its slipping.
My question is would a leaking clutch cylinder make it slip?
Could it have thrown oil onto the clutch plate?
Or does it just need a better clutch?

Author: adam_w_1, Location: EssexPosted: Thu Sep 20, 2012 3:33 pm ---- I've had my 206 1.6hdi remapped to 140bhp too last christmas, and my clutch started slipping! I was advised that a standard OEM part would suffice, and went with it. Have had no problems, however I do drive bearing the clutch in mind:
-No full throttle starts (pointless anyway lol)
-No high gear, low rev pulls (e.g. full throttle in 5th at 30mph!)
-Avoid driving like a granny (e.g. keeping the clutch depressed for decades when changing gear).
How did you go about getting your car remapped? Sometimes two 140bhp remaps can have completely different characteristics, despite the same headline figures. Mine is very progressive and isn't at all aggressive, however some will have much steeper torque spikes.

Author: ARRAN, Location: WiltshirePosted: Thu Sep 20, 2012 4:19 pm ---- Everyone on here will tell ya to get rid of the 1.6HDi 110 and get a 2.0HDi, apparently the 1.6HDi's had endless problems. Sorry my answer is no use to you, just warning you of the answers your gonna recieve! Good luck with your problems

Well I drive it like I drove my 180, so not that slow. And I make full use of the power. so that might be where im going wrong. An expensive lesson.
I think Im going to go down the paddle clutch route.
I spoke to the gys at cg motorsport in leeds and I can have my standard plate remanufactured with ceramic plates or fit a paddle clutch.
Not sure what to do yet but if its slipping Im hoping its not knackered the dmf.

#8: Re: 206 CLUTCH Yet Again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Author: Seabook, Posted: Thu Sep 20, 2012 6:46 pm ---- that's tramsmech clutch, which last less than 120 miles.
the DV6 engine is very problematic, avoid for sure.
#9: Re: 206 CLUTCH Yet Again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Author: PezHdi, Location: ShrewsburyPosted: Thu Sep 20, 2012 6:55 pm ---- Ouch only a 120 not good.
yeah i heard alot about this engine have problems.
as for a paddle clutch surely this would be a nightmare to use on the road?

even an uprate pressure plate kill my leg when stuck in traffic
#13: Re: 206 CLUTCH Yet Again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Author: nellyhaggis, Location: SheffieldPosted: Fri Sep 21, 2012 6:13 pm ---- Yup I've heard all the stories about the 1.6 engine but the mpg with the dpf, cat removed and a remap is over 50. A far cry from my 206 gti 180 which struggled to get 28.
I think I'm going to go down the route of a 6 paddle clutch as I'm going to be putting a fmic on it soon.
Can anyone recommend a manufacturer?
