#1: Clutch release problem Author: Martin_HDi, Location: west sussexPosted: Thu Sep 27, 2012 10:05 am ---- Hi, had a new clutch kit installed and got told the clutch is not releasing, with the pedal fully pressed still a slight bite.
Already had a clutch cylinder replaced, are there 2 in the car?
Clutch is complete kit from sachs and flywheel should also have been inspected.
Any help on how to fix this would be greatly appreciated!!

Was the release arm damaged in any way? Pressure plate fitted correct way round?
#3: Re: Clutch release problem Author: weeman, Location: oxfordPosted: Fri Sep 28, 2012 3:37 pm ---- as above, sometimes if the slave cylinder isnt clamped off when its disconnected from gearbox the piston can pop past the seal. not always doing permenant damage but would deffo need re bleeding. is there any free play/ adjustment on the pedal/push rod itself? ie getting full pedal travel. may not a clutch master cylinder issue if it was fine before the clutch being fitted...

The cylinder was replaced and they bled it too. I'll check on monday for full travel in the pedal and the release arm, although all was fine before the clutch replacement
Was also checking if the components in the kit matched up on webcat.zf.com/ but could not find anything wrong (garage are running out of ideas too)
