The thrust bearing has simply disintegrated in the bell housing, i have a new full clutch kit .
The thrust bearing seems to simply slide onto the shaft and two tiny little very weak plastic lugs hold it in place, it very easily unclips from the fork
Do i have something missing that holds the bearing in place as the current set up (the little plastic clip) seems as thought it wont do the job ,
have i lost a clip that holds it in place when it disintegrated
i don't have a haynes manual and i cant find anything on the web
unelss anyone here can help

No, thats just how it goes on, side not they dont clip on as this usually breaks the retaining clips. It just rather slides on the release arm forks if you twist the arm up so it all mates, then put the arm back into its correct location
Also have you changed where the release bearing sides? The tube held on by 3 8mms? As if has ANY marks in it, replace it with new as this could cause the release bearing to engage on the p**s which will end badly. They are only a few quid

Your reply helps , but sadly i have no confidence in the clip , but hey-ho , if that's how it should be lets see how the passage of time deals with it , dont fancy doing the job again in a few months time
i have read several forums re clutch,s and the quality of them , I bought a clutch from Andrew Pages , i half fitted it then took it off to return to the store because it was such poor quality compared to the original (haven't got a refund , the store is liaising with the supplier, but i don't hold much hope )
In the end i bought from a dealers and the quality is much better but the bearing seems just as bad in quality .
