#1: FORUM SCAMMER - PLEASE READ Author: LoftyGTi6, Location: Stourbridge PostPosted: Sun Oct 21, 2012 5:20 pm

Hi folks,

Quick heads up, but it looks like ive been shafted by a scammer who is on here, and now ive done some digging is well known across forums for ripping folks off.

He contacted me by PM when i posted a wanted thread up for some phase 2 lights, saying he didnt take paypal due to them ripping him off (oooh the irony), so being a trusting t**t that i am, posted him a cheque for £30 about 12 days ago. Sent him a PM this weekend asking when they were being posted, the reply was "there in the f*****g post FFS", so i asked when they were sent, then next reply was "oh f*** off".

His member name on here is THATPLACE or All about thatplace.

Real name Paul Woodward, known to the police it now seems,

www.google.co.uk/url?s...z3s4M_SHyg

Countless folks have been had over by this kind gentleman, so although its only £30, i thought i'd give you folks a heads up.

Beware out there it seems.

Sadly he has already had at least one other user name banned when he replied to a wanted thread of mine. Fortunatly i recognized his user name and flagged it up to one of the admin.

As you say you only lost out on £30 but it points out to others to keep your whits about you when buying on forums, were not all like him though Very Happy

Yeah i know it's rare, i'm just bloody annoyed with myself for sending him £30. It's been reported to the police already as he's doing the rounds on all sorts of forums taking folks hard earnt money off them.

What a lovely fella. Mind you the more i read about him, the more prevelant he is across the internet forums for scamming people.

He pm'd me saying he had a china blue bonnet, but i did check his post count (was low, off a newbie, and therefore not trust worthy in my books) before replying to him.

It has to be said it been said time and time again, don't send people money unless it's through paypal for safety, paypal is a rip off but at least it's something.

Also everyone moans about our 50 post for the for sale section rule, but i'd say it's a good rule, if they don't have 50 post and are trying to sell you something, take extra care! Very Happy

Similar here, put up a thread needing some diablo front parts and he said he could sort it all out. glad i didn't now.

must say thanks to the OP, and sorry for the hassle you had.
