#1: gearbox Author: Dwayne_, Posted: Mon Oct 22, 2012 8:24 pm ---- hi . i bought a 206 1.1 litre 2000 model the other day . when i was drivng around my estate i was in 2nd gear and when i went to put it into first it was grinding mad . but when i put car into netrul and when i go take off in first gear it doesnt grind anyone know the problem here?

The gearbox just isnt designed for idiots trying to select first gear while the car is still moving
This issue keeps coming up on here every few months & its always down to operator error!
