I am having a nightmare with my girlfriends 206 look, i know this has probably been covered a million times, but nothing has worked so far. The speedo and mileage have stopped working. i have changed crank sensor on top of gearbox, checked fuses and even tried a second hand instrument cluster but still no joy, the interior light has now started flashing when you open the door too, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated as i am honestly running out of ideas!!

There's a reversing switch on the gearbox too which has nothing to do with your problem.
Check the fuse for the odometer sensor, I forget which it is.

Reboot it like the previous post says. Someone with Peugeot's diagnostic equipment will be able to read fault codes stored in the cluster unit itself and the BSI. They will also be able to test the cluster.

Author: bezford, Location: darlingtonPosted: Sat Nov 10, 2012 9:50 pm ---- yes,defo needs bsi soft reboot-i had this problem a few weeks back,have you had the battery leads off lately because you need to perform this reboot after you take leads off aswell.it worked great for me...no problems since....
you can find the instructions for this reboot on "dillon" or enter soft reboot into the search panel or i think its under 206 introduction topic....quite far down the topics list...almost certain this is the fault but...if you have changed some stuff already its best you go back over them to be sure once the reboots done.....it can take 2 or 3 tries but will be cure i bet.....you can always do it again if you need t6o for any reason like your battery is off again just follow the procedure again.

Author: drysd4le, Posted: Sun Nov 11, 2012 6:23 am ---- hi thanks for all the help, i have now changed the speedo sensor, checked all fuses, tried a new cluster and also tried a bsi reboot, and i still have no speedo,no milage clocking up, no horn, interior light flashes when door is open and airbag light is on. i am close to scrapping it!!! ha ha any other ideas?
