Been looking for a standard backbox for the 2.0 hdi on ebay with the chrome pipe on the end. I've found a few but when I go into the listing for a 2.0d or hdi it doesn't list my car as compatible yet the 1.4/1.6 even gti exhaust's all look the same.
Motorfactors nearby want £100+ and eurocarparts its about £70, so figured if i can fit something for half the price until after xmas id be happy.
If i was to buy for example a gti backbox 2nd hand would it fit ok on to the centre section pipe and meet up with the hangers?

1.4/1.6 has a smaller bore. gti and 2.0 HDi although have the same bore but i am not 100% sure the hanger is at the same place
#3: Re: exhaust compatibility Author: bezford, Location: darlingtonPosted: Sun Nov 18, 2012 6:24 am ---- I got a new backbox(with chrome tip)and a centre pipe with clamps from a company advertised on ebay delivered 200miles for 75quid to fit my 137gti206 delivered on time and fits purfect....there are quite a few variations but they should have one to fit yours...i cant remember the company name off hand but i will look later and post it up.
