You'll be a lot better off using penetrating oil ... WD40 is over-sold and pretty useless at this.

once the two nuts are apart they will move easy,.

Penetrating oil finds it's way between the two seized components.
Any grease...copper grease...lard...anything that coats the threads to stop moisture and dirt getting into them.
