#1: 2004 1.1 206 Clutch Change? Author: James28, Location: KentPosted: Sat Dec 01, 2012 10:14 am ---- Bit of a long shot, but just wondered if there was a guide on how to change the clutch's on these kicking around on here at all?
Friends clutch has gone, been quoted £370 at a garage to have it replaced, is this a reasonable price?
Only experience I've had of changing clutch's is on Renault Clio's, which you have to drop the subframe to get the gearbox out, so had a long book time and as such garages quoted quite a lot. Is it similar in 206's?

#3: Re: 2004 1.1 206 Clutch Change? Author: Edward, Location: In the garagePosted: Sat Dec 01, 2012 1:04 pm ---- I paid £160 for my 206 clutch change - obviously labour only. Cash price too.

Diesels can be a little harder but its all the same at the end of the day

Not really, isnt much extra on the gti to be in the way of the box.
#7: Re: 2004 1.1 206 Clutch Change? Author: James28, Location: KentPosted: Sat Dec 01, 2012 5:38 pm ---- Thanks guys. So would you say that price is a bit steep? That is obvs price for kit and gearbox oil too.
Dont know whether to offer to attempt it myself, obvs only changed one before on a Clio!

Does seem a bit steep. If you have the tools readily availible then give it a go, most of it can be done with a decent socket set, the biggest one is the 32mm nut on the driveshaft.

I don't know the name of it, it was a small garage, I think they were polish, but they got the job done, rather quickly as well. Dropped the car off at 9 AM and picked it up at 2 PM.

I got a quote for £80 somewhere else but they said they would only be able to do it in 2 weeks time.
