#1: Lit up like a Christmas tree... Author: Twidly, Location: Home - Norfolk, Uni - PrestonPosted: Fri Dec 21, 2012 4:37 pm ---- So... Just got home obviously with my lights on. And tried to turn them off when I parked up. Car was having none of it. My main headlights will not turn off. All other lights inc rears and sides are off.
Solution??
I don't touch fuses btw ever since I spiked my ECU and it cost £1000 to get fixed.
I know I've not been on here in a while and here I am crawling back back when I've got a problem and all that crap. But help please
P.S. Temporary solution - disconnected the battery

i would rather unplug the headlights than the battery as you will mess up the bsi as the it will not be shut down in the correct way.
#4: Re: Lit up like a Christmas tree... Author: Twidly, Location: Home - Norfolk, Uni - PrestonPosted: Fri Dec 21, 2012 4:50 pm ---- It's not plexed. It won't f*** itself. Ever tried to get bulbs out in the dark... Well Anyway I didn't think of that...
#5: Re: Lit up like a Christmas tree... Author: bezford, Location: darlingtonPosted: Sat Dec 22, 2012 8:52 am ---- Its probly bsi related anyway so it will need a soft reboot...found on here in the HOW TO forum...

If the headlights passed through the BSI on a pre plexed, you'd probably be right, but they don't.
It's more likely to be the switch.
Fuse 10 (40A) under the bonnet is a simple way to turn them off. The headlights (dipped and main) are the only thing passing through it so you should be alright pulling it.

Hoping it'll fix it (:

That bit was in reply to the bit you'd quoted and to that guy too... To everyone.
#10: Re: Lit up like a Christmas tree... Author: bezford, Location: darlingtonPosted: Sun Dec 23, 2012 3:46 am ---- Yeah but if the batterys been off without the right procedure its gonna need a reboot anyway...
#11: Re: Lit up like a Christmas tree... Author: Twidly, Location: Home - Norfolk, Uni - PrestonPosted: Sun Dec 23, 2012 4:25 am ---- No it won't because it's pre plexed. It'll be fine. I've done this plenty of times before.

I am the retard?
The switch didn't work. I wiggled a wire in my H4/H7 adaptor and they went off. They now work properly
#14: Re: Lit up like a Christmas tree... Author: Twidly, Location: Home - Norfolk, Uni - PrestonPosted: Mon Dec 24, 2012 10:29 am ---- UPDATE: Drove 10 miles... When I got there, they wouldn't turn off again... Opened the bonnet and wiggled the green block that on my H4/H7 adaptor and they went off.
What is that bit? Don't think it's a loose wire because I wiggled all the wires and it did nothing... Gave a dropped it and they went off ?! WTF?!
#15: Re: Lit up like a Christmas tree... Author: Dillon, Location: KentPosted: Mon Dec 24, 2012 11:18 am ---- Sounds like the relay in the adapter has gone!
