The odd knock here and there can seriously compromise the performance of the part. What might look like a perfectly good part could have a catalogue of damage and abuse attached to it.
As Edward said, ECP is cheap enough, might even find some at local motor factors.

Or £58.60 from carparts4less with discount (eurocarparts without the shop fronts) although having said that they have a poor reputation for contacting if you have a problem.
SACHS are a well respected suspension make, so not the usual cheaply made ones you often see advertised on ebay for half the price.

You can have them if you cover postage, I can have them sent on a next day for Tuesday
Second hand I know but even if they just do you through the MOT, better than nothing
