Had my head lights out to clean up the earths at the back of them as I have issues with the auto lights on and came across a black 3 pin plug on both sides. Looks like its for another bulb but where ???

The plugs are most probably for the crystal headlights that have h7 bulbs. Peugeot left the plugs in on some models and fitted frosted lights, not sure why though!

yep i agree Sounds like you have H7 and H4 Loom. Normally its either one or the other depending on age of car. Yours must be cross over period and must be about 2002 age.

Its an 03 with the h7 clears on front. Would these spare plugs cause any problems been corroded ? As I'm still having the auto lights problem where if I indicate left it turns all lights off and indicate right IG might indicate four times if I'm lucky so have to turn side lights on at all times just so I can indicate.
