Electric Windows not working

Hi All

The other day both electric windows stopped working at the same time.

The driver side switch used to making a click sound when i pressed the button down and up. but this has stopped

thought it was a fuse, cannot find what fuse it was, as no diagram

car is 2001 1.9d lx

so checked every fuse and none blown

tested power to the electric window switch connector and it is fine also, so it is getting power.

Then a day or so later was out in car and window working again and that nice we clicking sound was back, both windows working.

then all of a sudden it stopped again and clicking sound gone again

both windows again.

Went to scrapers to get another switch and i knew his switch was not going to work, and it did not have the click and button was spongy

took switch apart and see nothing wrong with it


anybody seen this problem before
