Firstly i want to ask for help fining a front and rear sports bumper and grill used/recovered or new that doesnt break the bank? Any decent sites for that kind if thing?

Secondly ive heard of 206/VTR converstions And wanted to know if

eBay is honestly your best friend for parts like that.
Engine swaps are expensive.
Welcome.

VTR conversion is pretty simple provided things match up before hand and you buy the right VTR engine

Cheers for the welcomes and advice.

Got a 206 1.1 lx 01. Light moonstone blue, already sanded primed and spray the side rub strips gloss black rather than the plastic feel it has.

Removed rear badging and b strips, hunting local scrappys for sports bumper and aport grille.

Have some dezents 17" anthracite wheels need a bit work and some 20mm spacers before they can go on.

Cleaning it up basically but eventually i want atleast a 1.6 egine in it, any idea?

Photos soon

If you want a 1.6, don't bother spending the money on bumpers to fit to a 1.1. Just put what you save towards buying a 1.6 and then start modifying from there.

This would be a really cool project I reckon (owning a 1.1 look myself haha)
Make sure to post a project thread when you get buying parts!

why don't you lump the 2.0 vts engine in it instead?

Or just buy a VTS instead?

Like ive said, i do not want to simply buy s vts stick s induction kit on and walla! im done, i LOVE 206s and the way the look and want the fun of making it my own, howevere i do love the simplicity yet power of a vtr/s.

Would a 2.0 vts work?

Btw im aware this is alot of work but im not worried by that, cheers

Are the 2.0vtr and vts faster/more powerful than the respective 138 and180gti's?

There was a GTI in the scrap yard near me last time I was there, ill have a look next time I'm down and see what sort of condition it's in, as whether its a 138 or a 180 Smile
Might even have a look at getting it for myself haha.

Changing from a TU to an EW or XU isn't just a straightforward swap.

Im guessing you wont tell the insurance, so the only valid swap you could do is a 1.6 TU and the insurance wouldnt be able to tell the difference.

What year is your car?

Even then it would have to be the 8V lump and the engine number mysteriously changed.

Or ground away, or just like PSA and you generally cant find the f****r. Im struggling to match bloody engine bearings and the engine completely apart Laughing

8V can be quick, if you throw enough money at them

lmao, sure you haven't bought one thats had it done before? Laughing

Aye, but that's the case with anything is how much money you throw at it. Then if you want reliability it's more money again.

2.0L (1998 cc 16-valve DOHC) 122 kW (166 PS; 164 hp) XU10J4RS 4-cylinder petrol (used in Xsara VTS)

You don't need a big engine to make power - the Daihatsu Charade GTti has a 900cc engine but produces 99bhp from its turbo. Would love to have a go in that!

XU engine is stone age technology & a lot of mechanical parts are no longer even available for it from Peugeot / Citroen.
