Best i ever go out of my 180 was on a 90 mile trip in February last year i dont have the car no more, it was a very steady drive as it was p***ing down, you may think thats not the average MPG but i can assure you it is and NOT the over 1 that goes to 999 mpg when you go down a hill Razz

the old pugani (1.4) was returning about 20mpg round town and 38 on a long run. GTi is doing 25-28mpg round town and similair 35-40mpg long run. found just going from 60mph to 70mph has a big hit on it. having the mfd is encouraging me not to hoof it so much lol. Seen the GTi go as low as 6mpg doing.....some miles an hour

Getting 30mpg in my 1.4 8v , which is manily town driving. I never saw 20mpg in my scooby tho, it was slightly tunned tho.
Come to the conclusion that the bigger engine 206 cars are just has good has the smaller petrol cars around town if not better, and they do better above 60mph.Whats the point in them then apart from the small saving in tax and insurance.
My partners 1.4 hdi is getting 50mpg average, thats the way forward for running costs.

Asking a TU1 or TU3 lump to lug nearly a ton of weight around isn't going to result in good mpg figures Wink

The 207 is 300lb more, so whats the point in the small engine cars unless its a hdi. Cheaper insurance only thing going for them, i spent £900 on mine now and i need a front wheel bearing and crank oil seal now. I need to keep it now for what i spent on it, but i wished i had put the money into a hdi instead.
