So i thought id be all flash buying a cheap LED bulb from eBay to make my courtesy bulb much brighter. I have just installed it and it does not work, i rotated 180 degrees as it says if it does not work to do so and it also says to check if my car has a bulb failure computer. Is the bulb just faulty? do 206's have a bulb failure computer? has anyone else tried this?

I don't think any 206 has a bulb failure warning system
Try it in the boot or sidelights, they all take 501s. If it still doesn't work, then it's a dud bulb.

Nope, no bulb failure computer.

Easiest way to check is probably to apply some temporary wires to test it directly on the battery poles.

One direction or the other should work if the LED bulb itself isn't broken (which is a possibility, broken wire or solder connection) - as a sanity check, the incandescent bulb still works, so you haven't blown a fuse..?

If you want brightness, look at the SMD LED panels...

i had the same issue, paid £2 on ebay for 501 led bulbs and my interior light wouldn't work, i kept at it and finally got it to work just by moving the bulb around in the holder

Yeah the annoying thing is that you have to keep putting the cover back on and off. I tried for about 5 mins wiggling it about and still nothing. Ill try again tomorrow

I have tried it in my side light socket tonight and it worked but it never in the courtesy light socket. Any ideas?

Try another bulb in the courtesy light or check it with a multimeter.

Might sound daft, but you have moved the switch to permanently on or opened the door with the engine running to make sure the car hasn't gone into eco mode.

Cheers, will try again after work tonight. Fiddled with it so much now that I've crack the courtesy light casing.

Have you blown the fuse messing around with it?
