#1: Never ending oil leaks Author: bikesforme, Posted: Mon Mar 04, 2013 12:43 pm ---- To cut a long story short, i have replaced the rocker cover and sump gasket , camshaft and crankshaft oil seal. I still have a oil leak, it seems to be co
ming from around the headgasket front corner timing belt side. Car runs fine does not use any coolant, any thing i can put in the oil to stop it, don't fancy replacing head basket. Car is a 1.4 8v petrol, been running it on fully 5-40 oil, not sure if thicker oil will help.

#4: Re: Never ending oil leaks Author: bikesforme, Posted: Mon Mar 04, 2013 1:19 pm ---- How do i no its the headgasket that has gone, car runs fine and does not smoke or use coolant.

Be warned they don't always show any symptoms when they go until they catastrophically go, my 1.4 ran perfectly for 3-4 months when it was going, showed no sign of a blown head gasket till the final week where it drunk a load of fuel (i was lots of short journeys helping someone move so again didn't notice) and then on the final night of moving this happened.
#8: Re: Never ending oil leaks Author: bikesforme, Posted: Tue Mar 05, 2013 1:36 am ---- So my heafgasket will need doing, seeing i have spent over£800 on it i am g
