#1: h4 bulbs on a 180? Author: gtijames22, Location: stirlingPosted: Wed Mar 06, 2013 5:25 pm ---- allright lads i currently got my 180 with a xenon conversion and was wondering if the standard bulbs (non xenon) are the h4 ones. if i get pulled by the police then atleast i can quickly change them, is it a 3pin connector because i seen that while changing the sidebulbs,

The bulb type should the readable molded into the plastic at the top of the housing.
The plug that connects to the housing is 3 pin because it carries +12V for dipped beam, +12V for full beam, and common ground.
Inside the housing it splits into 2x 2-pin plugs with +12V and ground for respective bulb. 2x
There is no 'H4-style' 3-pin connector (at least in my wiring loom) that can plug onto an H4 bulb.
Functionally it also differs in that for a H4 bulb only one of the 12V feeds is active at a time (i.e. either full or dipped is on, never both) while on the dual H7 bulb setup, dipped beam remains on together with the full beam.
