What headlights has it got? Standard crystals should have h7 bulbs. Also, just because you can change a bulb roadside, isn't going to stop you getting points or fined.

The bulb type should the readable molded into the plastic at the top of the housing.

The plug that connects to the housing is 3 pin because it carries +12V for dipped beam, +12V for full beam, and common ground.
Inside the housing it splits into 2x 2-pin plugs with +12V and ground for respective bulb.
2x

There is no 'H4-style' 3-pin connector (at least in my wiring loom) that can plug onto an H4 bulb.

Functionally it also differs in that for a H4 bulb only one of the 12V feeds is active at a time (i.e. either full or dipped is on, never both) while on the dual H7 bulb setup, dipped beam remains on together with the full beam.
