#1: Rear Hub won't come off ! Author: A10PSW, Posted: Sun Mar 10, 2013 8:45 am ---- Hi
I have now been trying for 2 day to get the off side rear hub of my 2005 Pug 206 1.4 HDI.
I have managed to get the NSR off but this just will not budge!
I have tried everything, Hub puller, wacking with a club hammer, putting the wheel back on and kicking it from the inner side, spraying loads of penatrive oil but it just wont move...
I am replacing the Axle as the lower arm bearings have had it!
I suppose now I will also need new wheel bearings.
Any good tips how I might get it off?

I did have one but I snapped it trying to get it off!
Are you far from Selsey?

Author: deacon49, Location: NewcastlePosted: Sun Mar 10, 2013 5:28 pm ---- Had the same problem with my rear hub on my 1.4HDI. i got a large round punch and a big hammer and punched the stub axle through the middle of the drum and out the back. it does take some doing but your hubs probably stuck on the bearing. i punched mine out and got the drum off and then just hammered the stub axle back in from the other side.
Use a punch as not to damage the threads. You may need to resit the bearings in the drum as mine had split apart in the middle but they werent damaged in my case.

3 days I've been trying.
I am going to try using a sledge hammer now to bang the axle stub through!

I can't believe how hard the bearings were stuck on that shaft!
Anyway thanks to everyone for your advice especially Broadblaster who took the time to come over to try and help me out.
In the end I used a sledge hammer to knock the axle stub through a little which freed it up.
I might need to fit new bearings now but I cant get the circlip out of the Drum, and by the look of the replies I have had from the Forum neither does anyone else!
Now to for the recon Axle.
