#1: Car spluttering on start-up Author: jamiegti, Posted: Mon Mar 11, 2013 3:47 am ---- Hi, i have a peugeot 206 gti (2000), it has always run perfect but the other day when i started it up the car started to splutter bad on tick over and when i reved it spluttered even more and loses power until i put my foot down on the pedal and it would rev like normal. After 30 or 40 seconds of running the yellow engine management comes on and the car seems to run fine.. the light stays on though until you turn the car off and back on again, but everytime you turn the car on the same happens.. Any ideas?

The only difference is that my engine light didn't come on.
I cleaned my idle control valve and also replaced the MAP sensor, and the problem has stopped.

Today i have disconnected it and my car seams to be running fine, i am not going to drive my car like it is because i have been told it could break the CAT! While looking for this sensor i got told there was 2 of them(one before the CAT and one after it) i can only find 1 :S is it possible that the oxygen sensor after the CAT has been taken out as my exaust system is not the standard one? Thanks

If it's blocked you'll know because you won't be able to do more that 40mph or you'll feel major power loss when driving.
