i am currently looking for a 206 hdi, its for the wife, i would prefer her having a 2.0l version but shes inclined toward the 1.4...
so what are the pros and cons of both? Very Happy

BTW pockets aint very deep, it only her 2nd car. weve got around £1k

1.4 is slower... Very Happy

nah apart from that not much else.

just do not get a 1.6hdi

when buying my hdi i was told by alot of people on here the 2.0 is a near bullet proof engine and will se past the 200k mark if looked after.

for 1k though your be lucky to find one that has been looked after

hope this helps

there seems to be quite a few sub 1k, but as you say condition will be suspect...
iv been told the 1.4 as issues with turbos, is that true and a common problem?
i need to point wifey drives a 2000 1.1 saxo with 141k on the clock, its broke down only 3 times in 14 months shes been driving. 1st was down a roll of insulation tape dropping into aux belt on the bottom pully and seizing the damn thing, wouldnt do anything. damn wierd.. just after we bought, nothing todo with me :). 2nd time was 1st cold spell screwed battery. and now!!! iv not had chance to find out yet due to bad weather.
But shes lost confidence and wants rid

not heard anything bad about the 1.4hdi only the 1.6hdi

try and look for the eco model hdi only 30 a year tax Laughing

My missus had a 1.4hdi. Brilliant car, no issues and so cheap to run. Just wasn't big enough so it had to go.

I have a 307 1.4hdi.

Its been a very good car, ive only had to replace the starter motor in the 2 years or 30, 000 miles ive had it.

Plus its only £30 a year road tax and can do up to 70mpg.
