Drivers door stuck on dead lock
-> 206 Problems

#1: Drivers door stuck on dead lock Author: EuroPeugeot, Location: SW England PostPosted: Sat Apr 13, 2013 5:17 pm

So last night my alarm went off at 430am. I finally stopped it, although pressing the key fob didn't help. Had to put key into ignition. I took the battery of to make sure it didn't go off again.

When I reconnected the battery in the morning, the drivers door seems to be stuck on 'dead lock mode'. It cannot be opened from inside or outside the car. I have to climb out the passengers door! Sad

Any ideas? I'm guessing this happened because I didn't disconnect or reconnect the battery properly, as per the multi-plex way

Anyone know a reset or something I can do?

TBH I have no idea. The first thing I would try is a correct BSI reset procedure. There is a guide on here. I used it when changing my comms unit.

Rest the BSI, and leave the power disconnected for about 30 minutes to allow the power to die down from all the capacitors....then try.

Also the key in the lock should work, and try unlocking the door with the key when the battery is off!

Did the sort reset and didn't work. Also the key turns the lock obviously, but still won't open.

Any ideas on what to try next? Surely no way in getting the door card off without damaging it, right?

I believe Mr BSI knows a way to remove the barrel with out damage this may help you?

Yeah I guess that's what I'm going to need to do Sad

Although, I cant believe the drivers door barrel suddenly faults at the same time I get an alarm / electrical fault

Can someone also confirm how to dead-lock a MUX 206. I sat in the car. Locked the car via the key fob. Then pressed the lock button again and hear a locking 'sound', but I can still open the car from the inside. This shouldn't be able to happen, right?

Try and start the car, I read a post by mr bsi that this should reset the deadlocks as a safety feature. Unless you've already tried that.

Also pressing the lock button a second time deactivates the deadlocks.

Yeah I've tried starting the engine etc. How do I activate the dead locks then?

Providing you have the key fob with the 2 buttons. When you press the lock button this will set the alarm and the deadlocks, pressing the lock button a second time within 10? seconds will deactivate the deadlocks but keep the alarm active.
