Brake cleaner is OK but I would use hard tooth brush or simillar, not wire.
Check everything else above too.

Aquiring, seting-up and using PP2000 is not a quicky.
Might be worth getting someone who already has it to help you with this job.

Should have already scanned it with PP2000 really as other diagnostics do not always tell the whole story.

Not sure if this is relevant but I believe it this single beep fault seems to only happen when it is wet or raining?

The single beep that you mention from earlier that occurs on startup is the car telling you your battery is on its way out and needs replacing....
Its in the Haynes and actualy just so its identified easily it is less of a beep sound and more of a dong sound..u know???like half of a door bell on your house....like..ding-dong. But only the dong.
FACT. If u get this dong your batterys knackered...

It does not beep on startup? Not sure where you read that. The beep is when braking in the wet when the car is at running temp / or possibly warm brakes. Deffinately thinking its ABS related....

You don't get any beeps when you have problems with your ABS, just the ABS warning light comes on permantly, until the problem is fixed, then the light goes off.

The only single beeps i know of with the 206.
1) Is when the bonnet, and tailgate is not closed properly, but informs you on the MFD.
2)Trying to lock the doors, but one of the doors is not shut properly.
3) When the Fuel as got low and the orange light comes on the fuel gauge.

Maybe my door then. I have a dodgy actuator on the drivers door.

It did it again today. The revs are deffinately dropping when it happens.

To summarise. When braking and clutch in and coming to a stop the car beeps once from the comms unit. The revs drop to about 500 and then it just carries on as normal?

Ive gotta say it sounds more n more like your battery or alternator...the way the revs drop and it beeps as you slow down both point to battery faulty...the revs drop and it beeps as you slow because when decelerating like this the alternators supply drops and the engine and other drains draw on the battery more...

A good way to tell is to drive the car a while(ten mins shoyld do)and with the engine running without the fault presenting yet as you slow down on a quiet road turn on all your electrics..like the lights, the cd player, the heater etc.and as you slow quite quickly without revving see if the fault occurs...
Repeat the test several times until your satisfied you have tested the drain rate on the battery fully, making sure you do your best to drain that sucker and see what you get...

Dont forget cd player must be quiet enuf to hear the beep if it occurs...
I think i read that your battery was replaced just a few months ago but this is no guarantee of performance...ive known brand new and two month old batteries to fail so depending on the test results you may need new but if i did read right the battery should be guaranteed by the store or the manufacturer as im sure batteries come with at least 2years guarantee and often upto 4or5 years so they should replace it..

No. Looking like an oil problem. Filter and pressure sensor to be replaced. If that does not sort it sump and pump?

Have you got this sorted? When I worked as a tech at Pug high pitch regular beep was when the radio wasn't coded to the car, so if we did a sales head unit swap, you needed to go in and prog the chassis number into the head unit, sounds like BSi issue loosing/not recognising the coding for the head unit some reason...... gremlins!!!! As above BSi re-boot!!
